In most houses the kadha kettle is on when there's a chill in the air. On cold days, warm up with some immune-stimulating and nourishing kadha. These six homemade kadha recipes are the ideal cures for those annoying wintertime ailments.

Fresh Turmeric Kadha

The turmeric root is exposed to the sun for half an hour in the early morning and then it is julienned and added to the simmering water. Next, add a few drops of lemon, cloves, ajwain seeds, grated ginger, mint leaves, and honey into the mixture.

Masala Chai Kadha

After being sun-dried for a few hours, add the ginger, pepper, clove, cardamom, and cinnamon to the boiling tea water. Add a spoonful of honey to sweeten the chai and a very small amount of milk if you just can't do without it.

Cinnamon Kadha

Cinnamon's aroma alone has the power to calm and improve, and when boiled in a cup of water and mixed with a little honey, it will definitely accelerate the healing process. You can also add some mint and cloves.

Tulsi Kadha

Boil pepper, ginger, and cinnamon in water. Crush this old and dependable herb and add to the water. Stir with some honey. Serve warm with a dash of lemon.

All Spices Kadha

Add a small amount of cinnamon, one clove, star anise, peppercorns, a pinch of fennel, coriander, and cumin seeds to two cups of simmering water. After simmering for a while, let it cool and serve with a spoonful of honey and a squeeze of lemon.
