Rusk is an essential tea-time accompaniment. If you love having a crunchy rusk with your tea, why don’t you try baking at home? With this easy recipe, you can make whole wheat rusk in no time.
125 grams whole wheat flour 125 grams sooji 200 ml milk 3-4 tablespoons jaggery ¾ teaspoon active dry yeast 2 tablespoons olive oil ¼ teaspoon salt
Take a bowl and mix wheat flour, sooji, and sugar. In a separate bowl, whisk jaggery, yeast and lukewarm milk.
Mix the milk mixture with the dry ingredients. Add olive oil and knead a smooth dough.
Make a ball with the dough and press it into a greased baking tray to form a flat loaf.
Bake for about half an hour till the top is golden brown at 180°C.
Let the rusk cool, flip it, and then bake again at 130°C for about 15 minutes.
Cool the rusks and store them in an air-tight container.
