A perfect masala Omelet is a tasty Indian version of the Omelet. It is a quick and easy breakfast or snack with onions, tomatoes and a mix of spices. Spicy and protein-rich, it goes well with toast or paratha.
2 eggs 1 small onion 1 small tomato 1 green chilli Fresh coriander leaves ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder ¼ teaspoon cumin powder Salt to taste 1 teaspoon oil or butter for frying
In a bowl, break the eggs and whisk them well. Add a little salt.
Add the chopped onion, tomato, green chili, coriander leaves, turmeric, red chili powder, cumin powder and salt to the whisked eggs. Mix well.
Heat oil or butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
Pour the egg mixture into the pan and spread it evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges start to set.
Flip the omelette using a spatula and cook the other side for 2 minutes until cooked and golden brown.
Slide the omelette onto a plate and serve hot with toast, paratha or as a wrap in a roti.
