The sweet and savoury banana chutney is a quick and tasty recipe made from ripe bananas that goes wonderfully as a side dish or dip and complements many foods. This condiment pairs beautifully with ajwain parathas, poori, steamed rice, and sandwiches. Here is how you can easily prepare it within 30 minutes.

4 ripe bananas 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 2 tablespoons brown sugar 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar Salt to taste

In a skillet, heat the oil and toast the mustard and cumin seeds until they crackle.

Add the banana slices, turmeric, and red chilli powder. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

Add apple cider vinegar and brown sugar. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the consistency you want.

Add salt and modify flavours as necessary. Let it cool before serving it as a dip or side dish.
