The French are known for their croissants and other flaky and baked delights. However, what is that they have for breakfast? Let’s find out.
Closer to the croissant in terms of filling, these puffs are more like breakfast pastries covered in cinnamon and sugar mixture. They can also double-up as a dessert.
While the French toast may not have been invented by the French, it is definitely on their list of breakfast dishes. The milk and sugar soaked eggy bread is served with toppings.
Make a soft and moist crepe with buckwheat flour and you’ll have the French drooling at it. Drizzle some honey or maple syrup and top it with fruits of your choice.
Bored of the cheese and ham sandwich? The French do it differently by adding a layer of fried egg and béchamel sauce on top of this and make it a filling breakfast.
All you need is eggs, cheese, butter and some truffle salt. While the butter really melts the eggs in your mouth, the truffle salt adds a distinct flavour to the scrambled dish.
Can anyone beat the French at their coffee and croissant breakfast combo? We certainly have our doubts. The flaky pastry can be plain or stuffed with butter, cheese and more.
