Whenever we think of Winters in North India, we think of delicious and healthy Pinnis.
Made up of wheat flour, ghee, nuts, and sugar, it helps in staying warm and keeps diseases at bay.
Pinnis, in bulk, were sent all the way to France by the British during World War 1.
The Indian soldiers were home-sick for many reasons and one of them was not being able to have Pinnis.
Some soldiers wrote a letter to the Government demanding to be served Pinni.
The concerned authorities decided to boost their morale and provide them what they wanted.
