Keeping fresh herbs fresh and usable for a longer period of time requires that they be washed and stored properly. Here’s how to do it.
Clean any dirt or debris from the fresh herbs by gently rinsing them under a gentle stream of cool water.
Dry the herbs by patting them with a clean dish towel or several paper towels.
To avoid the herbs withering or going bad, make sure they are completely dry.
Remove any brittle branches or wilted foliage.
Wrap them in a moist paper towel and put them in a resealable bag, put them in a vase of water, or freeze them in ice cube trays with water or oil.
To keep the herbs fresh for a longer period of time, refrigerate them.
Use fresh herbs as soon as possible after washing and storing them for the finest flavour.
