Warming Garlic-Pepper Rasam To Combat Monsoon Flu

This herbal rasam is a delicious concoction that you can sip on or eat with rice and is packed with immunity-boosting ingredients like black pepper, cumin seeds and garlic.

INGREDIENTS

½ tablespoon tamarind pulp 1 tablespoon black pepper powder 7-8 whole garlic, crushed 1 ted chilli 2 teaspoons ghee 6-7 curry leaves 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 pinch asafoetida 2 tablespoons chopped coriander 1.5 cups water Salt, to taste

METHOD

Add the tamarind pulp, water, black pepper powder and garlic cloves to a saucepan and bring to a simmer.

Continue boiling it until the raw smell of the tamarind disappears.

Heat the ghee in a separate pan and add the asafoetida, curry leaves, mustard seeds and red chilli to splutter.
