Ward Of Insomnia With This Poppy Seed Payasam

For people who have trouble sleeping, Poppy Seed Payasam is a delicious and calming dessert that has been shown to have calming properties. 

Ingredients 

Poppy seeds Almond Cashew Coconut milk (freshly squeezed)  Fresh grated nutmeg Jaggery/sugar to taste 

Step 1 

Soak the almonds, now blend cashew and poppy seeds in a ratio of 1:1:1.5 

Step 2 

In a pan heat some water, add the paste (consistency should be slightly runny) and add jaggery or sugar to taste 

Step 3  

Let it simmer on low heat and the poppy seeds will start to expand and absorb water 

Step 4 

After a few minutes, add the coconut milk, adjusting the thickness to your desired consistency 

Step 5 

Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes and then add around 1 tbsp freshly grated nutmeg. Serve Hot or chilled if it is hot outside and you want a cold dessert
