Sawan, the holy month is going on right now and devotees are worshiping lord Shiva by observing fasts. However, what to eat while keeping vrat or fasts become a tough question. Here we bring you the simple and healthy vrat recipe of apple sago kheer, which can be consumed after offering prasad to the Lord Shiva. Take a look at the recipe here:
1 ½ litre milk ½ cup condensed milk ½ cup sugar 1 cup sago pearls (sabudana) 1 tsp cardamom powder 3 tbsp chopped raisins 3 tbsp chopped cashews
Wash the apples and meanwhile, soak the sago pearls overnight or for 2 hours
Peel the apples and cut them into small bits and keep them aside.
Take a large vessel and add in milk over medium flame so that the milk doesn’t stick to the bottom.
When the milk starts reducing to half, lower the flame and add the sugar and sago pearls and keep stirring.
Add the condensed milk and keep stirring. Keep starring throughout so that the milk doesn’t stick to the bottom.
Add the cardamom powder and apple bits and cook for 3-4 minutes at low flame.
Garnish with nuts and dry fruits. Serve chilled.
