The jackfruit, also known as kathal, is mostly a South-East Asian native. Although jackfruits are typically used to manufacture desserts, breakfast foods, and snacks, they can also be used to make curries.
½ cup curd ½ tsp chilli powder¼ tsp turmeric1 tsp kasuri methi1 tsp ginger garlic paste¼ tsp salt½ tsp garam masala2 tbsp oil (for frying) for curry:2 tbsp oil2 bay leaf1 inch cinnamon4 pods cardamom7 cloves1 tsp cumin1 onion (finely chopped)1 tsp ginger garlic paste½ tsp turmeric1 tsp chilli powder1 tsp coriander powder½ tsp cumin powder½ tsp salt3 to mato (finely chopped)1 cup water¼ tsp garam masala2 tbsp coriander (finely chopped
Take 15 pieces of raw jackfruit in a big bowl.After chopping, immerse the jackfruit in saltwater to prevent discoloration.
Marinate for 30 minutes by adding 12 cup curd, 12 tsp chilli powder, 14 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp kasuri methi, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, and 14 tsp salt.
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil add the marinated jackfruit to the pan and fry until it’s thoroughly cooked
Now heat oil add 2 bay leaves, 1 inch of cinnamon, 4 cardamom pods, 7 cloves, and 1 teaspoon of cumin.
Sauté the spices, Add one onion and one teaspoon of ginger garlic paste. add 12 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp each of chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin, and salt.
Now Add 3 tomatoes and continue to cook until the tomatoes are tender, now stir in the fried raw jackfruit (kathal).
Mix with 1 cup of water, adjusting the consistency. Add 14 tsp garam masala and 2 tbsp coriander, then cover and simmer for 15 min.
Now serve this with naan, and rotis enjoy this amazing dish!
