Red is the colour of love. It is the colour that makes things romantic and we associate it with Valentine's Day. Let us learn how to make delicious red velvet cake for this Valentine's Day celebrations.
2.5 cups maida 2 tbsp cocoa powder 1 tsp baking soda ½ cup unsalted butter 1 cup vegetable oil 2 cups white sugar 2 tsp vanilla extract 3 eggs 2 tbsp red food colouring 1 cup buttermilk 2 tsp white vinegar Pinch of salt
Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a bowl, sift the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt and mix well.
In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar first, till fluffy. Next, add in eggs, oil, vanilla extract and red food colour.
Add the flour mix slowly in the liquid mix, while adding buttermilk simultaneously. Make a thick batter.
Finally, beat in the vinegar. The batter is ready. Prepare a baking pan by greasing butter and pour in the batter.
Cook for a little over half an hour. Take the cake out, use icing of your choice and serve it to your date!
