While it is an diplomat’s job to travel around and build relationships in their assigned nations, US Ambassador Eric Garcetti’s recent trips around India and food indulgences prove he is a true foodie falling in love with Indian food. Take a look.

One of Eric Garcetti’s most recent food adventure was at the Tamil Nadu Bhawan in New Delhi.

The meal here was served on a banana leaf and included idli, sambhar, cabbage poriyal, and other Tamil dishes.

During his recent Chennai trip, Eric Garcetti enjoyed some fresh coconuts on the side of the road.

The ambassador enjoyed some “incredible dosa, vada, and chutney with the perfect filter coffee blend” at the Mylai Karpagambal Mess, Chennai.

This breakfast at the iconic Chennai eatery was in the company of actor Mohan Raman and his daughter Vidyullekha Raman.

During his tour of Ahmedabad, Garcetti visited a small eatery run by a mother-daughter duo and relished the momos and peri peri fries there.

While in Hyderabad, Garcetti relished a traditional and delicious meal at the Chowmahalla Palace, a heritage site from the Nizamat.

He also enjoyed Hyderabadi dishes like Mirchi Bhajji, Hyderabadi Biryani, pachadi, gunpowder, rice and other dishes.

On his visit to Mumbai, Garcetti enjoyed bun maska and chai at a legendary Irani café, Kyani & Co.

Garcetti also enjoyed some fresh mangoes grown by women farmers around Mumbai and thanked them for a “delicious harvest”.
