Unniyappam is an irresistible traditional South Indian snack that will transport you to a world of rich, warm flavours. Served as a quick snack, each bite offers a delightful crunch, a burst of sweetness and the warmth of tradition.
1 cup rice flour ¾ cup melted jaggery 1 mashed ripe banana 2 tbsp grated coconut ½ tsp cardamom powder 1 tsp sesame seeds A pinch of baking soda Water as required Oil for frying
Dissolve melted jaggery in water, strain and let it cool.
Mix rice flour, mashed banana, grated coconut, cardamom powder, sesame seeds, and jaggery syrup.
Adjust consistency to a thick batter and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan, pour the batter and fry on medium heat until it turns golden brown.
Drain on paper towels and serve hot!
