While taro root might not be your most favourite vegetable, these crispy snacks can turn things around. Try arbi pakore, cutlets and many more delectable treats.
Instead of potatoes, peel, boil and mash the arbi aka taro root. Mix it with spices like red chilli powder, turmeric etc. and roll into cutlets and fry.
Ever tried fries without potatoes? A close cousin arbi can be sliced into fine strips and tossed in cornflour to be deep-fried as crispy snacks. Serve hot.
Thick bundle of crispy bites made with colocassia leaves are packed with spices like cumin seeds, salt and red chilli powder. It is popular in Bihar and UP.
Why have only potato chaat when you can make one with arbi too? Combine with onions, cucumber and drizzle some tamarind-date sauce to finish.
Arbi is mashed and mixed with a few spices before being rolled and dipped in gram flour. Preheat oil and deep-fry the pakoras to be served with tomato sauce.
