If you're tired of your plain overnight oats, elevate your oats with the flavours of the tiramisu! Making tiramisu oats at home is easy and it's nearly not as sweet as it sounds. The trick is to swap cream cheese for chocolate and use unsweetened cocoa powder. Let's explore the recipe,
– 1 cup rolled oats – 1 cup brewed strong coffee, cooled – 1 cup Greek yogurt – 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder – 1/4 cup dark chocolate shavings or cocoa nibs, for garnish (optional)
Brew strong coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature. Cook oats and set aside to cool completely. In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, maple syrup or honey, vanilla extract, and half of the cocoa powder.
In a shallow dish, pour the cooled coffee. Dip each cooked oat into the coffee briefly, ensuring it's soaked but not overly saturated. Arrange a layer of soaked oats at the bottom of a serving dish or individual glasses.
Spread a layer of the prepared Greek yogurt mixture over the soaked oats, ensuring it covers them evenly. Repeat the layering process with the remaining soaked oats and Greek yogurt mixture.
Cover the dish or glasses with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavours to meld. Sprinkle the remaining cocoa powder and serve chilled.
