Ragi bread is a nutritious, gluten-free option rich in calcium, iron, and fibre. It’s perfect for diabetics and those managing weight. Try this simple recipe to add this superfood to your daily diet.
1 cup ragi (washed, dried, and ground) 1 tbsp Isabgol (psyllium husk) 1½ tsp salt ½ tsp yeast 1 tsp sugar or honey 1½ cup warm water 2 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
Activate yeast with warm water and sugar/honey. Mix ragi flour, psyllium husk, and salt in a bowl.
Add yeast mixture, oil, and optional honey, mixing until dough forms. Let dough rise for 1 hour, then transfer to a greased loaf pan.
Bake at 170°C for 30 minutes, cool, and enjoy.
