Mango halwa, or mango sheera is a traditional South Indian dessert that gets all the love in the summer season. If you want to make this rich summer-special dessert at home, try this quick recipe and enjoy the flavours of mango.
1 cup mango puree ½ cup semolina ½ cup sugar ¼ cup ghee 3 cardamom pod A pinch of saffron Dry fruits for garnishing
Rise a few mangoes and blend them to get a fresh puree.
Heat up some oil and roast semolina for about five minutes, and then add mango pulp and cook till the mixture thickens.
Add sugar, cardamom pods, and saffron and mix till the sugar is dissolved.
To make the halwa more indulgent, pour in some more ghee and let it simmer for about ten minutes.
Once the halwa is thick, turn off the heat and garnish with chopped dry fruits like cashew nuts, raisins, and almonds.
