Halwa is a classic Punjabi dessert made with a wide variety of vegetables, dry fruits, and nuts. To make a simple yet irresistible dessert, here’s how to whip aloo ka halwa.
500 grams potatoes 200 grams sugar 100 grams ghee 4-5 green cardamom pods A pinch of saffron Chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, raisins)
Boil the potatoes. Peel and mash them thoroughly. Set aside.
Heat some ghee and cook mashed potatoes till golden brown.
Add sugar and stir till it dissolves. Mix in crushed cardamom and saffron.
Garnish with chopped dry fruits and relish aloo halwa.
