Palak Patta Chaat is a popular Indian street food snack made with crispy fried spinach leaves topped with a variety of flavourful ingredients. This unique chaat combines the crunch of deep-fried spinach with the tanginess of yoghurt, the sweetness of tamarind chutney, the spiciness of green chutney.
15-20 large spinach leaves 1 cup gram flour (besan) 1/4 cup rice flour 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp red chilli powder Salt Water Oil
1 cup yoghurt, whisked 1/2 cup tamarind chutney 1/2 cup green chutney 1/2 cup onions 1/2 cup tomatoes 1/2 cup coriander leaves 1/4 cup sev Chaat masala Red chilli powder Roasted cumin powder
In a bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Add water gradually to make a smooth, thick batter that can coat the spinach leaves.
Heat oil in a kadai. Dip each spinach leaf into the batter and fry.
Arrange the fried spinach leaves on a serving platter. Drizzle the whisked yoghurt over the leaves.
Add spoonfuls of tamarind chutney and green chutney over the yoghurt. Sprinkle the chopped onions, tomatoes, and coriander leaves evenly over the top.
Add a generous amount of sev. Finally, sprinkle chaat masala, red chilli powder, and roasted cumin powder to taste.
