When you think about preparing a dish for the festive spread, paneer often crosses your mind. However, many think that paneer gravy is incomplete without onion and garlic. Here is your matar-paneer recipe but without onion and garlic.
250 grams paneer ½ tsp turmeric powder Puree 3 tomatoes 1 chopped green chilli, cinnamon Salt to taste, water as needed 1 tsp kasuri methi, garam masala 1.5 tsp coriander powder ¼ tsp black pepper 2 tbsp cashew paste, coriander leaves 1 cup boiled peas 1 tsp red chilli powder, cumin seeds 1 tbsp fresh cream/ malai 1 tbsp oil
Heat oil in a kadhi while let green peas boil in water.
Add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, green chillies, and cinnamon. Saute and pour tomato puree.
After cooking tomato puree, add cashew paste and other spices except for garam masala and kasuri methi.
Add boiled peas and put on the lid. Roast the spices until oil is released. Meanwhile, deep-fry paneer cubes in ghee.
Add water to adjust the consistency, and sprinkle salt, kasuri methi, and garam masala on top along with fried paneer.
