Made simply by mixing all the ingredients in one bowl, this grainy cake is eggless and has the flavours of old school tea cake that you could buy from local bakeries.
1 cup semolina ½ cup yoghurt ½ cup milk ¼ cup honey ¼ cup sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder ½ teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon cardamom powder 1 pinch salt
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius while you combine the yoghurt, milk, honey, sugar and cardamom powder in a mixing bowl.
Mix well to encourage the sugar to begin dissolving and add the salt.
Add the semolina and allow the batter to sit for 10-15 minutes before you add the baking soda and baking powder.
Transfer to a greased baking tin and bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes.
Alternately, you can also pressure cook the cake on a low flame for 35-40 minutes. Cool and serve.
