Whether you are making a curd-based dip or a marination mixture of thick consistency, hung curd, also referred to as Greek Yoghurt, is the best ingredient to look for. If you know how to prepare curd at home, it will take no time for you to turn it into Greek yoghurt. Try this method.
Cheesecloth Plain curd Bowl Strainer
Take a bowl and put a strainer on it. Double-line the strainer with a cheesecloth or muslin cloth.
Take a spoonful of curd and drop it at the centre of the cheesecloth.
Once you have poured a decent amount of curd into the cheesecloth, gather all its edges, and start twisting.
Allow the liquid from the curd to drip for a couple of hours at least. The more you drain, the thicker the consistency of hung curd.
Once you are happy with the consistency, take the curd out in another bowl. Use the liquid in your gravy for a rich texture and nutrients.
Use the hung curd to make dips, marination, and other curd/ Greek yoghurt-based recipes.
