Mawa Barfi is a beloved Indian sweet, perfect for festive occasions or just a delicious treat at home. This easy recipe uses a few ingredients to create a soft, melt-in-your-mouth barfi.
Heat 2 cups of mawa (khoya) in a non-stick pan on low heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking. Cook for 5-7 minutes until it becomes slightly golden.
Stir in ¾ cup sugar and continue to cook until the mixture thickens and comes together, about 5 more minutes.
Add ½ teaspoon of cardamom powder and mix well. This adds a warm, aromatic touch to the barfi.
Pour the mixture into a greased tray, spreading it evenly. Garnish with chopped nuts if desired.
Let it set, then cut into squares and enjoy your homemade Mawa Barfi!
