Dal dosa is among the best weight loss recipes that you can eat for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Made with lentils, it is loaded with fibre, protein, and other essential ingredients. If you have the batter ready, it won’t take you more than 15 minutes to enjoy a sumptuous meal.

2 cups water ½ cup mixed lentils 1 inch chopped ginger Salt to taste 1 green chilli 2 tablespoons rice flour A pinch of asafoetida Oil 1 tablespoon rava

Rinse all kinds of lentils - toor dal, chana dal, urad dal, masoor dal, and moong dal. Soak them overnight for at least 7-8 hours.

Discard the soaking water and wash the lentils again with tap water. Drain the liquid and add the lentils to the blender.

Blend lentils with ginger, salt to taste, asafoetida, and green chillies. The raw ingredients will infuse flavour into the batter.

Add water to the batter to adjust its consistency. It should neither be too runny nor too thick. It must have granules to keep the texture rough.

Add rice flour and semolina to the batter and allow it to rest for at least 15-20 minutes. It will ensure that the dosa comes out crispy.

Spread the batter on a hot non-stick tawa and spread a spoonful of oil around the edges. Once the base has turned crispy, serve the dosa with chutney.
