This Burmese Guava Salad is a healthy and delicious snack you can indulge in during any time of the day, and takes 15 minutes tops to make. Here is the simple recipe to enjoy the seasonal fruit.
3 guavas, sliced 2 onions, sliced 3 garlic cloves, crushed 1 tbsp gram flour 1 tbsp peanuts, crushed 1 tsp brown sugar 1 red chilli, finely chopped 1 tbsp sesame oil Salt, to taste 1 tsp lime juice
Heat a pan and dry roast the gram flour until it turns slightly brown and smells nutty. Set aside.
Heat oil in the same pan, then add onions and garlic. Fry until the onions crisp up, then set aside.
Place the guava slices in a large bowl, then add the gram flour, fried onions, garlic, chillies,sugar, lime juice and salt.
Toss everything together, adjust the seasoning, then let the salad rest for 5 minutes so that the dressing combines well.
Top with crushed peanuts and serve the salad, or pack it up for a quick snack.
