Ghugni is one of the most loved dishes in East India to have as a street food. It also serves as a base for all the chats made with chickpeas and lentils. Try this ghugni recipe to eat your favourite street food at home.
1 cup dried chickpeas 1 large onion 2 cloves garlic 1 inch ginger 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon garam masala 1/4 teaspoon amchur powder Salt to taste 2 tablespoons oil
Soak the chickpeas overnight.
Place the soaked chickpeas in a pressure cooker and cook for 2-3 whistles.
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, onion, garlic, ginger, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and amchur powder.
Add the cooked chickpeas to the pan and add water.
Season with salt and garnish with chopped cilantro.
