Imli or tamarind and aloo bukhara or plum drink is a refreshing Pakistani drink to beat the summer heat. It offers the benefits of plums, reduces heat effects, and provides a cool, fresh feeling without harmful additives in carbonated drinks. Here is an easy recipe.
125 gm Tamarind (Imli) 125 gm Dried Plums (Aloo Bukhara) 250 gm Dried apricots 1/2 Cup Caster Sugar 1/2 tsp Black Salt Crushed ice (as required) 2 tbsp Basil seeds (optional)
Soak 125 gm tamarind, 125 gm dried plums, and 125 gm dried apricots separately in one cup of water each and leave overnight.

Remove the seeds from all three and mix them well. Strain the mixture and cook with 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup sugar, then remove it from the stove.
Put ice in a blender with the blended mixture and 1/2 tsp black salt, then blend well. In two glasses, add 1 tbsp of soaked basil seeds.
Pour the sharbat over the soaked basil seeds and add some ice cubes. Serve chilled.
