Besan Dhokla is a soft, savoury steamed cake made from chickpea flour. Flavoured with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chillies, it makes a tasty and healthy snack.
1 cup gram flour (besan) 1/2 cup curd 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp sesame seeds 1-2 green chillies, finely chopped 1/2 cup water Salt to taste Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish) Oil for greasing
In a bowl, add besan, curd, turmeric, baking powder, and water to form a smooth batter. Add salt to taste.
Grease a steaming dish with oil and place it in a steamer. Bring the water in the steamer to a boil.
Now, pour the batter into the greased dish and steam for 15-20 minutes.
In a pan, heat a little oil, then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, sesame seeds, and green chillies. Saute well.
Pour the tempering over the steamed dhokla, garnish with fresh coriander, and cut into pieces. Serve!
