Oats and vegetables are a delicious and healthy combination for breakfast, especially when you combine them to make appe, a popular South Indian dish. Its quick recipe allows you to serve breakfast or snacks in under 20 minutes. Try this easy-to-follow recipe.
1 cup Oats 1/2 cup sooji Salt to taste Chopped carrot Chopped capsicum Chopped beans Chopped broccoli 1 chopped onion 1 chopped green chilli Oil as required
Soak oats and sooji for 10 minutes in water so that the ingredients become soft and gooey.
Add the chopped vegetables and combine everything to ensure there are no lumps in the mixture.
Add salt to taste and a few spices like red chilli powder, black pepper powder, and more.
This is optional but you can also add yoghurt to the mix to ensure appe comes out soft and fluffy.
Add Eno before pouring the batter into the appe pan. It will add to the fluffy texture.
Pour some oil into the appe pan and add the mix. Cook both sides for 5-7 minutes and Serve hot with raita or chutney.
