Tropical Hwachae Drink Bowl: A Must-Try Korean Fruit Punch

Tropical Hwachae is a Korean fruit punch made with various fruits, sweeteners and flavoured drinks like fruit juices or carbonated sodas. Hwachae is typically enjoyed during summer to cool down and is often served as a dessert or snack. Here is how to make this refreshing drink at home: 

Ingredients

1 cup pineapple   1 cup watermelon   1 cup mango   1 cup grapes   1 cup strawberries   1 cup soda water or sparkling lemon drink 2 tbsp honey or sugar syrup 4-5 mint leaves Juice of 1 lemon 

Step 1

Wash and cut all the fruits (pineapple, watermelon, mango, grapes and strawberries) into small pieces.  

Step 2

In a big bowl, combine all the cut fruits. Add lemon juice and honey (or sugar syrup) to sweeten.  

Step 3

Pour soda water or sparkling lemon drink over the fruits. Mix gently to combine all the flavours.  

Step 4

Put the bowl in the fridge for 30 minutes to let the flavours blend. Garnish with fresh mint leaves before serving. Serve cold for a tropical treat.
