Here are five varieties of khichdi from all across the country.
Served with sweet Gujarati kadhi, this variety of khichdi comes with or without vegetables.
This khichdi is unique in its own way as it uses toor dal instead of customary moong dal and has unique masala mix that contains a balance of 30 spices.
This is a non-vegetarian version of khichdi that has a similar taste to biryani, however, it is cooked differently and served with a tangy side dish called ‘Khatta’.
This household dish is usually made using rice, ginger, chillies, moong dal, urad dal and served with chokha.
This khichdi is offered as bhog during Durga Puja and it is usually accompanied with sweet tomato chutney.
