Jirhul phool sabzi is a unique and authentic recipe which is very popular in Jharkhand tribal cuisine. Santhal and Munda tribes are very fond of this dish. Also, the flowers are very cheap to purchase, with a pretty pink hue and a delicious taste.
1 cup jirhul flowers 1/2 cup mustard paste 1/4 cup grated coconut 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder Salt to taste 1/2 cup water Oil for cooking
Combine jirhul flowers, mustard paste, coconut, cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, and water.
Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Add the marinated jirhul flowers in some oil and cook until the gravy thickens.
Serve hot with rice or roti.
