Tribal Cuisine Of Jharkhand: Authentic Chana Mutton Recipe To Taste

Have you ever tried Chana Mutton? It is a gravy-based dish full of spices and mutton chucks with kale chane. It is very hot, and kale chane provides perfect crunchiness to the chewiness of the mutton. Try this dish to taste the authentic tribal food of Jharkhand.

Ingredients

1 kg mutton 1 cup black chickpeas 1 large onion 2 cloves garlic 1 inch ginger 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste 1/2 cup water

Step 1

Combine mutton with cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, and a little water. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Step 2

Add onion, garlic, and ginger. Add the marinated mutton to the pan and cook until browned.

Step 3

Stir in the cooked black chickpeas, add garam masala, and adjust the salt to taste.

Step 4

Add water and simmer until the gravy thickens.
