There are lots of tribal recipes that help you make delicious pickles. Try this amazing amla achaar recipe from Jharkhand. The pickles are sweet and can be stored for all winter.
1 kg amla, dried 1 cup mustard oil 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup water
Using a fork, prick the amla to allow the spices to penetrate.
Heat mustard oil; add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, and turmeric powder.
Add the pricked amla and water to the pan. Bring to a boil.
Let the achar cool completely before transferring it to an airtight glass jar.
