Traditional Hot Kesar Milk Recipe For Winter Days

A comforting glass of kesar milk can be heartwarming during winter season and also gives a boost of health. Saffron (kesar) comes loaded with antioxidants that is key to good overall health. 

Ingredients

2 cups milk 1 tsp fennels eeds ¼ cup cashews ¼ cup almonds ¼ cup pistachios

Ingredients

1 inch cinnamon stick 2-3 Cloves 2 pinches of saffron strands 2 tbsp Sugar 1 tbsp Ghee 2 Cardamom pods 

Step 1

Add ghee in a pan and saute almonds, pistachios, cashew nuts, cinnamon, cloves and fennel seeds.

Step 2

Grind the roasted nuts together into a coarse powder. Add milk in another pan and keep stirring it. Let it boil. 

Step 3

Crush saffron strands and keep aside. 

Step 4

Now add sugar to milk while stirring, once the sugar dissolves add saffron strands and cardamom pods. Do not stop stirring. 

Step 5

Now add 2 tsp of the prepared nut powder and mix well. Once it turns thick, turn off the flame. 

Step 6

Pour the milk garnished with crushed nuts. Serve hot.
