The traditional Gujarati cookies, nankhatai, are melt-in-mouth delicacies that you can make at home. Be it to pair with your tea or a quick post-meal treat, nankhatai is perfect for all occasions.
1.25 cup maida 2 tablespoons sooji (semolina) ½ cup sugar ½ cup ghee ¼ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon cardamom powder 2 teaspoons chopped nuts A few rose petals for garnishing
Mix maida and sooji together. Set aside.
Mix powdered sugar and ghee. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
Add the flour mixture and knead a smooth dough.
Take small portions, roll them into balls and gently press them down with a fork.
Top with chopped nuts and rose petals. Bake for about 15 minutes and serve.
