Milk is the best natural source of calcium and is a nutritious drink for babies to adults alike. As we mature, we explore the milk market and find so many different types that confuses us. Here are 6 different types of milk and what they mean!

Toned Milk

Toned milk is made by the mixture of cow’s or buffalo's milk or both. It has no deposition of fat that takes place while standing. Milk fat percentage is 3%. In double toned, the milk fat percentage is 1.5%.

Standardized Milk

Standardized milk is manufactured using cow, buffalo, goat, or sheep’s milk or a blend of any of these milk that has been standardized where the milk fat content is 4.5%.

Full Cream Milk

Full cream milk is made by the mixture of cow’s and buffalo’s milk which has been standardized with a milk fat percentage 6%.

Skimmed Milk

Skimmed milk is essentially prepared from the milk where all the fat content has been removed mechanically. The milk fat percentages are 0.5%.

Organic Milk

Organic milk comes from the cows that have never been given any form of hormonal or antibiotic injections and also raised from the farms that follow the strict standards of organic dairy farming practices.

Pasteurized Milk

Pasteurization is a process by which milk is heated to a specific temperature for a set period of time to kill harmful bacteria.
