A quick and easy breakfast recipe is all everyone wants to try because nobody wants to spend too much time in the kitchen. Tomato uttapam is a healthy choice for breakfast, and this South Indian recipe is worth a shot.
½ cup rice ½ tsp methi seeds Salt to taste ½ cup urad dal 1 cup chopped tomatoes 2 tbsp coriander leaves Ghee Water as required Sliced cherry tomatoes
Rinse dal and rice thoroughly before soaking them overnight.
Make a slightly coarse paste of rice and dal and let it ferment for 6-8 hours.
Add salt to the batter and water to adjust the consistency. On a hot skillet, add a ladle full of the batter.
Before it starts to cook, drop chopped tomatoes and arrange sliced cherry tomatoes on top.
Press tomatoes into the batter and cook both sides until the surface turns brown.
Serve uttapam hot with your favourite chutney and sambar.
