Follow these tips to keep your veggies fresh for a longer duration during winter.
Chop off the leafy tops of the root vegetables like carrots and turnip to retain the moisture.
Do not wash the vegetables before storing them in the refrigerator as this will result in rotting.
Vegetables like potatoes and beetroots can be stored in sand, sawdust or even in open baskets.
Do not store leafy vegetables like spinach or lettuce for a longer time.
If you have vegetables in bulk amount, do not keep on concrete floor. Rather store them in baskets or on shelves.
