Brimming with goodness of Moong Dal, ghee, sugar and cardamom, Moong dal Halwa is a Desi Shaadi Staple we cannot get enough of. Learn how to make it at home.
Make sure you have soaked the lentils well before you grind it into paste. Soaking facilitates the grinding process.
Use non-stick pan to cook the halwa, since you would be required to stir the moong dal consistently.
It is best to use whole fat milk for best results, it lends the halwa a more decadent and creamy appeal
Do not be stingy with the ghee either as it makes your halwa velvety and smooth, besides giving it the gorgeous sheen.
Do not shy away from adding khoya to the halwa to make it exactly like they do in the shaadis. Crumble the khoya, add to the halwa. Do not add milk if you are using khoya.
