Tips To Make Jammy Soft-Boiled Eggs

Soft boiled eggs are liked by most people because they render an egg yolk that's semi-cooked and has a luxurious texture to it. Here's how to get jammy egg yolks everytime you boil an egg.

Step 1

You'll need 3-4 fresh large eggs, 3 cups of water, 1 tbsp oil, 2 cups of cold water, 1 cup ice cubes.

Step 2

In a saucepan, pour in the 3 cups of water and put it on high heat.

Step 3

Let the water come up to a boil, after which add in the oil and turn the heat down to medium. The oil helps in peeling the eggs later.

Step 4

Gently drop in the eggs and let them cook for 6-7 minutes with a lid on.

Step 5

Prepare an ice bath for the eggs by combining the ice cubes and cold water in a mixing bowl.

Step 6

After 6 minutes, take the eggs out and drop them in the ice bath. Let them sit for 10 minutes in the ice bath.

Step 7

After the eggs are cooled, peel them carefully and slice in the middle to reveal lightly-set, amber yolks.
