Rice is a staple in Indian cuisine but it’s a challenging task to cook it perfectly. Here are few tips to master it.
It is very important to rinse the grains several times with water in order to remove the excess starch.
The cooking pot should not be too big or too small as this would cause the rice to stick at the bottom or with each other.
Water should be added depending upon the variant of rice. The ideal measurement is two parts of water to one part of rice.
Adding salt to the water once it starts boiling enhances the taste of the rice.
Do not remove the lid immediately after switching off the heat, let the cooked rice rest for 10 minutes before draining it.
