To add a touch of tangy notes to chaat or starters, you need sour chutney. If you don’t have tamarind at home, you can make tangy chutney using amchur powder. Here is a quick recipe to try out.

Ingredients

¾ cup sugar ¾ cup water 1 tsp salt ¼ cup amchur powder ¼ tsp red chilli powder ¼ tsp black pepper powder 1 tsp cumin powder ¼ tsp black salt

Step 1

Add all the ingredients to a pressure cooker and close the lid.

Step 2

After pressure cooking all the ingredients for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Release the pressure and open the cooker to check the consistency.

Step 4

If the consistency of the chutney is runny, cook the concoction to reduce water content.

Step 5

Once you are happy with the consistency, turn off the flame, and let the mixture cool.

Step 6

Store the chutney in an airtight container and use it according to your requirements.
