Tilkut Chutney: The Only Winter Accompaniment You Need

Sesame and jaggery are two winter staples, we Indians cannot do without. It is nourishing and fortifying and did you know sesame or til can be used in myriad preparations, including chutney. 

Ingredients

1/2 cup black sesame seeds or black til 6-7 dry red chilis   18-20 peeled garlic clove   Salt as per taste preference 

Step 1

In a pan, roast black sesame seeds or black til  for two minutes on low to medium flame. Transfer on plate, let it cool. Once it is cool, grind the seeds in a mixer till you get coarse powder. 

Step 2

In a pan add the dry red chilis and roast it for two minutes on low to medium flame. Let it cool, grind to powder. 

Step 3

Mix powdered black sesame seeds and dry red chili powder together. 

Step 3

Grind garlic clove in a mixer, add to black sesame and red chilli powdered mixture. Mix all ingredients together using a spoon or hand. Add salt as required.
