In winter, people make amla murabba to extract maximum benefits from eating Indian gooseberry. It is a sweet and tangy dish that goes well with stuffed parathas. Try this quick recipe to make it at home.
300 ml water 12 amla 1 tsp pepper powder 300 grams sugar 1 tsp black salt 1 tsp saffron 1 tsp cardamom powder
Wash amla thoroughly and add it to water. Boil it and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
Prepare sugar syrup in another saucepan using water and sugar.
Add boiled amla in sugar syrup and cook the ingredients for at least 15 minutes.
When the consistency is thick, add cardamom, saffron, salt, and black pepper.
After a minute, switch off the flame, and let the ingredients cool off.
Store amla murabba in an airtight jar for a year.
