1 cup curry leaves 2 cups cooked rice 1 tbsp chana dal 1 tbsp toor dal 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp black pepper 1 tsp coriander seeds 3 green chillies 2 tsp oil Salt, to taste For the tempering: 1 tbsp ghee ½ tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp urad dal 2 dry red chillies 6-7 cashews
Heat oil in a pan, then add the curry leaves, chana dal, toor dal, cumin seeds, black pepper, coriander seeds and green chillies.
Saute and roast the spices, then switch off the heat and let them cool down. Then, grind the spices into a coarse powder.
Heat the ghee in a pan, then add the mustard seeds, urad dal, dry red chillies and cashews.
Saute until lightly golden, then add the rice and the curry leaves-spice powder. Mix well.
Cook the mixture while stirring occasionally for 8-10 minutes. Adjust the salt and serve hot.
