Chef Kunal Kapur recently shared a recipe for mawa barfi on his YouTube channel. He said that with rising cases of adulteration of khoya and other milk-based products, you can make sweets at home by following this quick recipe.

1 litre milk 60 grams almonds 55 grams cashews Water as needed 1 tsp dry rose petals 1 tsp crushed pistachios 1 tsp crushed cardamom 3/4 -1 cup sugar ¼ cup roasted sesame seeds ½ cup desiccated coconut
Bring 2-2.5 cups water to a boil and add cashews and almonds to it.
After boiling for 10 minutes, drain the excess water and run the dry fruits through tap water.
Remove almond skin and make a smooth paste of dry fruits and 250 ml milk.
In a deep vessel, heat 750 ml milk and reduce it to half. Add sugar and stir it.
Pour dry fruit paste into the container while continuously stirring milk. Add desiccated coconut, cardamom, and toasted sesame seeds.
When the paste starts leaving the surface of the pan and thickens, spread it in a mould lined with butter paper.

Top the barfi with dry rose petals and pistachios. After chilling for an hour, cut it into squares and serve.
