If your taste buds need some cracking up, then this firecracker cocktail is what you need.
Made with a combination of rose wine, gin and muddled cherries, it is believed that the drink was made out of a need to utilize a box full of cherries.
Interestingly, one can substitute the rose wine in the cocktail with some other sparkling wine of your choice or even red wine and vodka.
• 1 bottle chilled rosé wine (or sparkling wine) • 1 cup pitted cherries • 60 ml gin • 1/4 cup sugar • 1 cup ice • Lemon slices, to garnish
• Bring a pot of water to boil. • Add sugar, and stir continuously. • When the sugar dissolves, remove it from heat.
• Allow it to cool down. • In a pitcher, combine sugar syrup, gin, rosé wine and muddled cherries. Stir well.
• Refrigerate it for 4-5 hours. • Garnish with lemon slices. • Serve over ice.
