This Classic Champagne  Cocktail Is  Everything Extraordinary

This elegant sparkling cocktail which dates back to the 1850s, lets the bubbles shine through—with a hint of added flavor from a bitters-soaked sugar cube. 

Ingredients

1 sugar cube 3 drops angostura bitters 25ml cognac 100ml champagne (chilled)

Drop the sugar cube into a champagne glass and cover with a few drops of angostura bitters. 

Top with the cognac.

Slowly top up with champagne, tilting the glass slightly.
